KR Kamath appointed chairman of IBA

With effect from 1st October 2012, Shri K.R. Kamath has been appointed as chairman of  The Indian Banks’ Association (IBA) . Currently Kamath is the chairman and managing director of Punjab National Bank.

Mr Kamat is currently one of the deputy chairmen of the IBA.  Kamath will take over from outgoing chairman Mr. Alok Misra who retires this month end.

A veteran banker and experienced professional, Mr Kamat was heading Allahabad Bank before moving to Punjab National Bank.
