Wild Tamil Nadu captures nature in its most intimate form. Nature is amazing, mesmerizing and beautiful, and above all, supreme. When you see a baby elephant resting her small leg on her sleeping mother, you feel the warmth and love that animals share. Those pouncing waterfalls intimidate the supremacy of nature. The lightshow of Fireflies is still dancing in my heart with “Sa.. Pa.. Ma..” rhythm. When the majestic Cheeta with the expression of “no more messing around me” comes to drink water on the right side of the Pond, I was unconsciously moving towards the left side of my seat. I was waiting along with the mother Hornbill for the food which will be brought by the father every day. The crunching noise made while eating by the tiny rat is bloody sweet. The soft pinkish “cat walking” flamingos waiting for the fish frame frozen my moments. The background music and the flow of scenes blend like milk and honey.
There is a beautiful poem written by Ruskin Bond on the rain drop. It flows like this…
“This leaf, so complete in itself,
Is only part of the tree.
And this tree, so complete in itself,
Is only part of the forest.
And the forest runs down from the hill to the sea,
And the sea, so complete in itself,
Rests like a raindrop
In the hand of God”
While watching the film, I was reminded of the poem The movie like the poem resonates how everything is soulfully connected. You may be compelled to feel humbled.
The film explores and connects five classical landscapes, mountains, forests, croplands, arid lands and coasts as mentioned in ancient Sangam literature like an intricately woven fabric. Together they show Tamil Nadu as one living, breathing whole.
Kudos to the entire Wild Tamil Nadu team! The movie whispers ” Live and Let Live” in the beauty of Nature. You may regret that the movie ended after 60 minutes.
Sustainability is on every board’s agenda, but only a few turn it into action. Hearty Congratulations to Arathi Krishna madam, the Managing Director, SFL Ltd for producing such a genius piece of creative work. Let the movie reach more and more! Let us pause, reflect and nurture the nature!
There is a word of caution. The movie make you feel emotional. You may want to fly like the weaving bird and go inside the western ghats. But you have to come back home alone.
If you wish to have song in your heart always then watch this movie!
