Bharti Airtel to unveil BWA services based on 4G

Bharti Airtel [stockquote]BHARTIARTL[/stockquote] is set to launch broadband wireless access (BWA) services based on 4G technology in a day or two.

BWA service using 4G is revolutionary offering which provide download speeds of around 100 Mega Bytes per second (mbps) when a subscriber is moving. Telecom equipment maker ZTE to plan, design, supply and deploy its BWA network in Kolkata. In Maharashtra Nokia Siemens Networks will build and operate the network using -LTE technology.

Besides Airtel, Reliance Infotel (Formerly known as HFCL Infotel) won a 20 Mhz slot pan-India BWA spectrum for Rs 12,847.71 crore. BSNL and MTNL were allocated one slot of BWA spectrum.

Stock of Bharti Airtel settled at 329.75 down marginally at NSE on monday.
