Rollback iron ore export duty : Miners to Govt.

, April 2, 2012, 0 Comments

The mining industry has sought a rollback in export duty on iron ore, currently  at 30 per cent. Late December, the Government had hiked the export duty on iron ore fines and lumps to 30 per cent from the earlier 20 per cent.

Federation of Indian Mineral Industries (FIMI) in its letter to FM explained the rational behind lowering export duty as higher duty has resulted in less revenue for center, state and Railways.
