Larger Perspective : The part of the whole

Larger-Perspective-The-part-of-the-whole-marketexpress-inThere is this large bungalow painted pure white on the way to the temple. Its magnanimous size and design has always been an attraction for everyone. Physical attractiveness apart what looks mysterious is that not many human voices are heard except that of any guards and employees. Only once I had a chance to have a glimpse of one member getting in the car and being driven away.

At that time I realized that someone lived there. The inhabitants of that mansion are recognized by the Mansion in our locality. They have reputation because they have such a big and beautiful property. The house is their whole, and they are its parts. It’s like “Oh! See that person. He is the inhabitant of that big house.”

Sometime I wonder what will happen if that castle would be no more. The whole would be no more. The parts scattered, their own identity lost would try to be part of another whole. Realizing that we are recognized by our whole, I wonder if we are taking utmost care of it. We Earth Denizens were gifted with such a resourceful, beautiful, lively and big house to live in.

The Earth whose sustainable existence is based on ‘Vasudev Kutumbam’ (the whole world is one family) , we were supposed to live like a big joint family where there is enough for everyone’s need but not for anyone’s greed.

But what have we done? Not only we unequally divided it, but trying to snatch off other’s share. Its’ geography is being unethically carved out again and again, the newly and acquired share being painted crimson and its surroundings being filled with black soot. The roots of this building are thus losing its strength and parts trying to cement oneself with more resources in hope to remain attached to the whole.

Well, they are also preparing for the apocalypse. The parts are trying to find another whole to be fit in. But I wonder if these parts would be welcomed by new whole. I wonder if a tree cut to its roots can grow somewhere else. I wonder if a square can ever fit in a circle. And why the parts of new whole would adjust to give space to someone who is a killer of its own existence. The building can be rebuilt with labor, but I wonder if a life can survive without its whole.
